The tour starts with a reflection on the indigenous slavery history visiting the nearby ancient hacienda remains, a testimony of a loaded history but more than anything of the resilient spirit of the indigenous people.

Next, Don Cesar will escort you to his residence, where he takes great pride in introducing his alpacas and demonstrating the traditional method of wool spinning. A unique component of this experience involves learning the traditional technique of grinding corn on a stone, an ancestral practice passed down through generations. You'll help doña Maria Manuela in making tortillas from this freshly ground corn, in their traditional choza, connecting you directly to culinary traditions and the timeless lifestyle of their culture.

The heart of the visit is the family's organic garden, where they demonstrate the implementation of eco-friendly farming practices that respect the earth. Don Cesar will guide you through his garden, showcasing a variety of organic crops, some of which you will harvest for the the pampamesa lunch. A 10 minute walk along the river, through the community fields gets you to another beautiful family site with trout ponds and more productive chakras. Here you will help the family with final preparations for the traditional pampamesa lunch (communal meal where all food is served and shared in a traditonal manner): making the famous aji (hotsauce) on a stone and a fresh organic salad, that will be served with delicous potatoes, grains, vegetables and trout (or guineapig) from the farm.

This visit offers a deeper understanding and appreciation of the indigenous culture and its respectful relation with Mother Nature.
