PROJECTS

In 1999, while traveling through Ecuador, a group of Belgians stumbled upon Guamote and were moved by the harsh and disadvantaged living conditions of the indigenous population. Inspired by their resilient and entrepreneurial spirit, they founded Inti Sisa to provide opportunities for these inspiring people. Over the course of its existence, Inti Sisa has come a long way and takes pride in their journey. They have assembled an incredible team of dedicated individuals who pour their hearts and souls into their work every day.

Inti Sisa strongly believes that the foundation of any successful endeavor lies in understanding and responding to the real needs and aspirations of local people. By actively seeking out and understanding the challenges, aspirations and strengths of the local community, we pave the way for meaningful and effective change. And by passionately inspiring and empowering individuals and communities and forging magical connections, we create a generation of impact-makers.

EMPOWERMENT: OUR JOURNEY OF CREATING IMPACT MAKERS

The Inti Sisa Foundation, established in 1999, focuses on supporting and strengthening the local education network. We organise our own educational initiatives at our formation centre in Guamote and also offer academic programmes in public schools, using alternative teaching methods and strategies such as emphasising participation rather than discipline, fostering creativity rather than reproduction and promoting cooperation rather than competition. In this way, we aim to improve local students' self-confidence, promote their social and financial skills and foster their entrepreneurial spirit.

Furthermore, Inti Sisa runs several social projects to support local indigenous communities and organisations, including empowering programmes for women and initiatives that promote sustainable agricultural practices and encourage the preservation of indigenous culture and traditions. The aim is to work with local people to create emancipating opportunities, greater social justice and sustainable impact.
